Larger, more concentrated number of building failures compared to recent years

Three of Anchorage's Library Advisory Board voted to have the municipal attorney look into the legality of a book at the public library in reference to a state statute that includes "exploitation of minors" in its language.

"We've reached the cliff," said Sen. Cathy Giessel (R-Anchorage) on the perennial challenges of minimizing the blow the state will feel from a deficit in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
