Marlise Irby is glad to be back in the 49th State, as of April 2020, after leaving Alaska to work in Idaho for the past two years.
From 2018-2020, Marlise served as the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. anchor at Pocatello's KPVI-TV. In Idaho, Marlise continued her love for adventure and also admittedly fell in love with Idaho's famous fry sauce and potatoes!
Marlise started her television career at KOKI-TV in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2014 as an Associate Producer. Two years later, she accepted a job in Anchorage at KYUR/KTBY, which is when she fell in love with Alaska while reporting about so many great people and unique places.
Now back in Alaska, Marlise looks forward to telling many more amazing stories. Working at KTUU has been a long-time dream, she says, and she joins the Channel 2 news team as a Producer and Digital MMJ/Reporter. You will also catch Marlise filling in as an Anchor at Channel 2 on occasion.
Marlise graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2008, earning a bachelor's degree in Journalism. Go Pokes!
Marlise is originally from Texas, which is why you will hear her say "ya'll" and refer to an "icebox" from time to time. She has an "orange" cat named Kenai... even if others seem to think her cat is brown.
