ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Hospice of Anchorage is hoping to take some of the burden off caregivers with boxes full of goodies.

The campaign runs through August and 100 boxes will be handed out each month. The goal is to provide something specifically for the caregivers in hopes of offering them joy and relief.

“Things like specialty popcorn from a local place or chocolates or fidget spinners, bean bag hearts that you can heat up and hold in your hand, smooth stones to rub for calming and just a variety of different things to help provide a little support and joy in your life,” said Bethany Burgess, the clinical director of the Hospice of Anchorage.

To get a support box, people can either go to the resource center to pick one up or use its curbside option.
